Bericote recently let the contract to specialist infrastructure contractor, I&H Brown, who are now on site constructing the new highways access into the scheme. The works are programmed to be completed in August and are the crucial first step in delivering the new 1.4m sq ft distribution park, known as M6Major.com.
The development can accommodate two large distribution units, the largest totaling c.1 million sq ft, and construction is expected to commence on the buildings later this year.
Keith Wilson, Development Director for Bericote said:
“It’s fantastic news that we are now on site and this major new development is under way. It’s a huge investment in St Helens and demonstrates Bericote’s continued commitment to delivering the scheme and creating over 2,500 new jobs in the town”.
